


About Kojo Kissi
Kojo Owiredu Kissi is a Filmmaker, Photographer and Strategic Communications Specialist with over a decade’s experience in storytelling: media production and communications. An award-winning filmmaker with a strong passion for using film and media arts to advocate for change and impact society, he recently led media and communications at the Ghana office of the world’s largest anti modern slavery organisation, IJM, where he has been involved in using the power of stories and communications to advocate for justice for people who are vulnerable, especially people in situations of oppression and trafficking.
Before IJM, Kojo worked in communications at one of Ghana’s most reputable private health facilities - Medifem Hospital. He also started and managed a marketing communications start-up, Atumpan.Comm, where he worked on tailored corporate marketing communications solutions; as well as on a number of freelance projects that promoted the marketing and communications efforts on brands like Ecobank, International Organisation for Migration (IOM), MTN, Ghana Immigration Service, Rigworld Solutions, Coral Paints, Neogenics Education, Lifelink Friendship Schools, Kojo Antwi etc.
Through his training as a filmmaker and photographer, combined with studying strategic communication and managing various content and communication campaigns in Ghana and internationally, he has honed valuable skills. These include public relations strategy, project management, media relations, advertising, digital marketing, creative writing, digital design, communication planning, directing for TV and event planning. These skills have made him a well-rounded communicator, filmmaker, and media producer with a deep understanding of corporate expectations.
